Refund & Cancellation Policy
How cancellations, refunds, and billing work for VDH memberships and masterclasses.
1. Monthly Memberships
You may cancel a monthly membership (VDH Candidate or VDH Member – Monthly) at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future billing; there is no refund for the current billing period already paid, and your access continues until the end of that period. No cancellation fee applies.
2. Annual Memberships
If you purchase an annual membership, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your original purchase date. After 14 days, annual memberships are non-refundable, but you may still cancel to stop the subscription from renewing at the end of the annual term.
3. Contributor Subscriptions
Contributor subscriptions (Academic, Practice, Firm and Institution) are invoiced annually, excluding VAT, and payable on the terms stated on the invoice. You may request a full refund within 14 days of payment. After that the annual fee is non-refundable, but you may cancel in writing before the renewal date to stop the next invoice. On cancellation or expiry, Contributor seats and home-page logo placement end at the close of the paid term.
4. Masterclasses
Masterclasses are once-off purchases that grant access to course materials and/or recordings. Because access to digital course content is granted immediately on purchase, masterclass fees are non-refundable once access has been granted, except where required by law or at our discretion in cases of a genuine technical fault preventing access.
5. Free (Observer) Tier
The Observer tier is free of charge; there is nothing to refund or cancel beyond simply closing or not renewing your account.
6. How to Cancel or Request a Refund
To cancel a membership, log in and use the cancellation option in your account area, or email philip@valuationdiscussionhour.com.
To request a refund under this policy, email philip@valuationdiscussionhour.com with your name, registered email address, and the date of purchase.
7. Failed or Disputed Payments
If a scheduled payment fails, we (or PayFast) may retry the charge or suspend access until payment succeeds. If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact us before disputing the charge with your bank or card issuer, so we can investigate and resolve it directly.
8. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other applicable South African law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Contact
For any billing, cancellation, or refund query, contact philip@valuationdiscussionhour.com.
