Cadastre Explorer

From a point on the map to the diagram, the zoning scheme and the valuation roll that govern it.

Every parcel of land in South Africa has a key. Search an erf number with its town, a farm name, a coordinate or an LPI key — or simply click the map — and this tool reads the parcel straight from the Chief Surveyor-General’s own cadastral service: its identity, its registration division, the zoning scheme and valuation roll that govern it, and a direct route to the survey documents held for it.

It is built for the question a valuer actually has to answer first: what exactly am I valuing, and which diagram governs it?

The Valuation Discussion Hour stores no cadastral data. Every figure below is fetched from the source at the moment you ask for it, and the source is named on every card. If a government server is down, this tool will say so rather than show you a stale copy.

An erf number with its town, a farm name, a coordinate pair, or a 21-character LPI key. Or simply click the map.

Click anywhere on the map to identify the parcel beneath the point.

Cadastral parcels and municipal boundaries: Chief Surveyor-General, Department of Land Reform and Rural Development, read live. Survey document index: Chief Surveyor-General (ESIO). Basemap: OpenStreetMap contributors. Nothing on this page is a Valuation Discussion Hour figure.
